Corporate Social Responsibility

NomeX’s commitment is about Corporate Social Responsibility. This term, coined by the great thinker and former Secretary General of the United Nations, Koffi Annan, arose from the needs of under developed and developing countries. It would promote to the world which will help achieve "a more sustainable and inclusive global economy."
NomeX is committed to solve and lessen the problems of the society around. NomeX social commitment is based on five basic principles set out below:

  1. Respect for the individual workers – by understanding them as one of the central pillars of labor relations.
  2. The eradication of all forms of child labor followed by the correlative commitment to quality education.
  3. The overwhelming rejection of any kind of corrupt practices.
  4. Promotion of economic and stable conditions by reducing poverty, despair and providing access to employment of citizens of Equatorial Guinea following the Constitutional guide lines.
  5. Committed to have a healthy and safe work environment.

To elaborate more on our social commitment, it is necessary to make a point-by-point breakdown of the five principles set out above:

  1.  "Respect for the individual workers – by understanding them as one of the central pillars of labor relations".
NomeX as a company providing services to third parties, is aware of the importance of labor in all projects and contracts, therefore, NomeX have a skilled workforce ready for the day to day challenges encountered. It is NomeX’s duty to promote a space in which the individual workers can develop their professional skills and provide the necessary training according to evolving technology and work process. Before evaluating the performance of its employees, NomeX considers that the individuals are vulnerable to human error. Also, NomeX considers that workers belong to families and aims to protect their physical and moral integrity by providing a healthy and safe work environment at all times.

  2.  "The eradication of all forms of child labor followed by the correlative commitment to quality education."
Despite our deep-rooted moral values passed down to us by our parents, which hone our personality. We still need to learn and develop this personality through formal education. Hence, education is very important. In December 2013 NomeX conducted a national campaign for the donation of school materials based on the distribution of portfolios, notebooks and pens. The campaign was a success and in fact we received letters of gratitude for the gesture shown.
For NomeX, all forms of child labor is totally prohibited in compliance with labor laws of Equatorial Guinea and for this reason NomeX do not recruit underage individuals.

  3.  "The overwhelming rejection of any corrupt practices".
In June 2006 NomeX joined TRACE, a noted international organization pursuing the exemplary, transparent administration and management of all organizations that are integrated into it. Working with TRACE, this commitment demonstrates once again that NomeX is a transparent company looking away from corrupt practices and bribery that can damage and encourage an underground economy regardless of tax laws.
Cash payments in bribes, kickbacks and other corrupt practices do not fall within our dictionary and despite the difficulties we encounter, we always act in accordance with absolute transparency. Hence, our commitment in this respect is total.

  4. "Promotion of economic and stable conditions by reducing poverty, despair and providing access to employment of citizens of Equatorial Guinea following the Constitutional guide lines”.
NomeX is proud and can boast to be one of the top companies in the sector that gives employment to citizens of Equatorial Guinea. Thus, providing access to employment. Many people are able to take care of their families and live with dignity.
Another aspect we emphasize is; all forms of discrimination are totally prohibited by NomeX. NomeX will act immediately to any situation that may occur in this respect. Men and women have the same opportunities and abilities to access employment, thereby further promoting equality (positive discrimination) among both sexes.

  5. " The commitment to have a safety and healthy work environment ".
At NomeX, despite having an extensive manual on safety and health, we regard that our workers are the core of our operations. By providing a labor service with optimum safe conditions and a healthy environment free of risks that could jeopardize their physical integrity. That is why, we make sure that the facilities of our customers have all the necessary security and safety measures according to the type of work activity. In this regard, the responsibility of the employee is to comply with all the safety and security measures whereas it is the duty of care that the employers are to promote these steps, which are crucial for the work to be carried out safely and effectively.
These five principles mark our guidelines for action and underline our position. To the extent that we continue to comply with them, NomeX is a successful and responsible company.
